Friday's Five 🖐🏼 #113
Happy Friday's Five,
I'm back in Berlin after a week away, how was your week?!
What I'm reading
Big fan of Fleabag and big fan of Phoebe Waller Bridge. Here is a good profile on her in Vogue.
I just spent a week on an island close to the sea and went for runs every day along the coast. This piece in the Guardian about why time spent near water is the secret of happiness seems fitting.
What I'm listening to
Two loyal musical companions are releasing a new album today: Coldplay's first-ever double album 'Everyday Life' and Beck's 'Hyperspace'.
What I'm watching
The Queen – Season 3 came out and I binge-watched it while away last week. It's just exceptionally well done and I love how the series covers different eras of the Queen's reign. Season 3 brings us a new cast and at the center of it, Olivia Colman who plays the Queen and who I remember fondly from the (equally fantastic) series Broadchurch. Find it on Netflix.
What I'm thinking about
My friend Sarah recently encouraged me to "surrender to the uncertainty" and it's a piece of advice I've come back to many times since. Thanks, Sarah!
What else?!
What would it be like to fill an Olympic stadium with 90.000 people and instead or a sports or music event, experience democracy live and in action—for example by signing petitions that address the climate emergency. That‘s the bold vision of Fridays for Future, Scientists for Future, and einhorn Berlin who joined forces to gather citizens for a day of activism on June 12, 2020. The goal is ambitious: crowd-fund 1,8 million Euro in 33 days to make it a reality. I bought my ticket and gifted one. Are you joining? I sure hope so.
Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend.
David
