Friday's Five ๐๐ผ #122
Happy Friday's Five,
Hello from Raleigh, North Carolina, where I am this week to work with my client here and spend time with my relatives who live here. I hope you had a great week!
What I'm reading
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Read. A book I can't put down. It's the story of how a fictional band became huge in the 70ies and it's written documentary-style. Very entertaining, fast-paced, highly recommended.
What I'm listening to
A year ago I visited Disneyland for the first time and was hugely impressed by how they execute and live the vision of making it the "happiest place on earth". I got reminded of this experience while listening to this conversation between Tim Ferriss and The Walt Disney Company's current Chairman & CEO Bob Iger in which he shares a great deal of business and deal-making tips (i.e. how to negotiate).
What I'm watching
Knives Out. Believe the hype, this was a great movie.
What I'm thinking about
Less of a thought, and more of a new word I learned: ultracrepidarianism which means โthe habit of giving opinions and advice on matters outside of oneโs knowledge or competence.โ
What else?!
Something worth noting this week is this blog post by Microsoft in which the company announces its plans to become carbon-negative by 2030. Now if you were like me and first suspected that this was 'another' big company jumping on the 'green' bandwagon, then make sure to read the post. It's one of the best I've read on the topic and it goes deep and it goes technical. Way to lead!
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
David
