Friday's Five 🖐🏼 #125
Happy Friday's Five,
Things are picking up steam this week with new big assignments from existing clients and some new ones as well. Hope you had a great week, this one went by so fast.
What I'm reading
Did you ever dream about becoming famous? There is something to the idea of being famous, right? Little is said about the 'other side' of being famous and Tim Ferriss wrote a blog post with 11 eleven reasons not to be famous from his personal experience. Read the blog post.
What I'm listening to
Hrishi Hirway of Song Exploder and The West Wing Weekly is back with a new show called Partners in which two partners share the story about how they became–you've guessed it–partners. The first episode is with chef Samin Nosrat and Wendy MacNauhgton who illustrated Samin's book. Subscribe to the podcast here.
What I'm watching
Bear's Den has become one of my favorite bands in the past years and last summer they went on an acoustic tour in Scotland to connect with nature, the people, and one another. Beautiful images, music, and people :) Watch the documentary for free on YouTube.
What I'm thinking about
"We should care for ourselves, we don't have to perform it for other people." I loved this quote by Lisa Sanchez in this podcast episode of the 'Should We' podcast in which Lisa and Diana Berlin discuss the topic of self care in the age of Instagram and influencers. Made me think to see self-care not as 'in addition' and rather 'instead'.
What else?!
In the most recent episode of the Role Models Podcast, Isa and I interview the fantastic Miriam Junge, a psychotherapist and coach based in Berlin. Miriam opens up the world of therapy and coaching to us and she shares many insights and great tips in our conversation. Listen to it on rolemodesls.co/podcast.
Oh, and before we go... Have you seen the trailer to Wes Anderson's upcoming movie 'The French Dispatch'? That cast.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
David
