Friday's Five 🖐🏼 #145
Happy Friday's Five,
My first week back in Berlin went by like a blip. It took a while to readjust to a large city and I'm slowly finding my groove.
What I'm reading
In Praise of the Quiet Life by The School of Life. "Lauding a quiet life has some of the eccentricity of praising rain." Or not?
What I'm listening to
We're half-way through 2020 and I've added six months worth of songs I've shared on Insta so far this year in a playlist. 150 songs, 10 hours of music, and hopefully a new favorite song. Listen on Spotify.
What I'm watching
Central Park is a new Apple TV+ animated musical series and I've watched the first few episodes. It's well done and very... well.. New York. Love the characters and especially those voiced by Josh Gad and Tituss Burgess. I'm so/so on the musical bits but there are some funny ones for sure. Watch the trailer here.
What I'm thinking about
"Perhaps the most counter-intuitive truth of the universe is that the more you give to others, the more you’ll get. Understanding this is the beginning of wisdom." – from Kevin Kelly's 68 Bits of Unsolicited Advice
What else?!
If you live in Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin you've maybe come across this still-under-the-radar delivery app: Gorillas. Their promise: groceries delivered to your door in under 10 minutes. I've tried it 3 times since I got back to Berlin and they beat the 10 minutes promise every time. I have no idea how they do it. Granted, the selection is small and they focus on essentials but including a few convenient surprises like coffee beans from my favorite coffee roaster. I placed last night's order at 8:38pm and it was delivered at 8:44pm. Insane. Check out the app here and try it out (if you use my referral code DN880157 you'll get 5 Euro discount on your first order).
Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!
David
