Friday's Five 🖐🏼 #167
Happy Friday's Five,
this week was all about coaching: a day with the leadership team of zenloop, a day with the leadership of the sustainability team at Zalando, and today with the leaders at Cowboy.
What I'm reading
Benedict Wells's 'Vom Ende der Einsamkeit' is a book I've seen so many people carry in the past years and I finally read it too. It's fantastic. It's touching, warm, hopeful. Wells finds a way to talk about loss and loneliness, about family and friendship, about the courage to love. More about the book.
What I'm listening to
Another month went by and we're in the final month of the year. Here are 28 songs and 1 hour and 53 minutes, almost a song a day in the month of November. Listen on Spotify.
What I'm watching
Great series from Belgium are rare so when one comes around, I give it a go. 'Undercover' is a Dutch-Belgian production about two undercover agents who infiltrate the network of one of the world's largest ecstasy producers. It's a great cast and had to smile a lot about the many idiosyncrasies that are typical to the characters and the Belgian-Dutch region. Watch the trailer.
What I'm thinking about
"My old definition was “freedom to.” Freedom to do anything I want. Freedom to do whatever I feel like, whenever I feel like. Now, the freedom I’m looking for is internal freedom. It’s “freedom from.” Freedom from reaction. Freedom from feeling angry. Freedom from being sad. Freedom from being forced to do things. I’m looking for “freedom from,” internally and externally, whereas before I was looking for “freedom to.” – Naval Ravikant
What else?!
This week I made my yearly donation run and was wondering if the subscribers of my newsletter want to join in. This year, I supported the Berliner Stadtmission, Greenpeace, Amnesty International, UN Women Committee Germany, and Amadeu Antonio Stiftung.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
David
