Friday's Five 🖐🏼 #20
Ta-da! Edition #20 of Friday's Five is out today–thank you all for reading. It's been a lot of fun to share these with you every week, I hope you've enjoyed receiving them. Here's what is up:
What I'm reading
Why You Should Stop Reading The News – Farnam Street – I've been mostly off of Twitter and Facebook in January and checked NYTimes.com and spiegel.de only once or twice per day max. It's been great.
What I'm listening to
Nils Frahm – All Melody (Spotify)
Turin Brakes – Invisible Storm (Spotify)
Nothing But Thieves – Broken Machine (Spotify). It's been a while since an "alt-rock" band caught my attention and the first 4 tracks really deliver.
The Role Models Podcast – Ann Miura-Ko (Apple Podcasts) – Ann, partner at venture capital firm Floodgate, was a pleasure to speak with and listen to. She's such an eloquent communicator and storyteller and shares a ton of wisdom and advice.
What I'm watching
What I'm thinking about
For the past 3 years I've been on and off about practicing morning pages (originally found in Julia Cameron's 'The Artist's Way') and I've noticed how much it helps me to clear my mind, work through things, and practice my writing. Why am I sharing this? Mainly as a note to self to stick with it.
What else?!
My Role Models co-founder and good friends Isa and her husband Phil welcomed their baby daughter Marlene Rosa to this world. Congrats to the three of you!
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
