Friday's Five ๐๐ผ #26
Greetings, friends. Wow, my week was busy, busy good.
What I'm reading
Thanks for all your recommendations for novels from last week. I'm compiling the list of novels you all have shared with me:
Rachel Cusk โ Outline
Leni Zumas โ Red Clocks
Michael Faber โ The Book of Strange New Things, Look Whoโs Back in German or English
John Irving โ The World According to Garp
Jules Vernes โ Around the World in Eighty Days
John Strelecky โ Big Five for Life
Isabel Allende โ My Invented Country
Frederik Backman โ A Man Called Ove
Zadie Smith โ Swing Time
Nnedi Okorafor โ Binti
Andrรฉ Alexis โ Fifteen Dogs
What I'm thinking about
Recently I've been using WhatsApp more and more in work contexts to use audio messages as a reply to (long) emails. Saves a ton of time and lets me add more nuance to my reply. Wondering how far this will go for collaboration within teams.
What I'm listening to
The Goop Podcast โ Gwyneth Paltrow in a conversation with the amazing Oprah (Apple Podcasts).
Editors โ Violence (Spotify) โ I stopped paying attention to Editors in the last years and really liking this new album. Standout track: Nothingness.
What I'm watching
Started re-watching The Office (the U.S. version). What an ensemble and so funny.
What else?!
"Being a leader is really just being yourselfโฆIt takes guts to go there, it takes a lot of courage, and a lot of bravery.โ โ Ali Schultz, Co-Founder, COO, and Coach at Reboot. If you're a startup CEO or co-founder, highly encourage you to listen to (and share) this episode of The Role Models Podcast. Ali takes us behind the scenes of the life-changing CEO Bootcamps they organize at Reboot, and many more techniques and tips on how to work through the struggles of building and running a company.
Have a great weekend, thanks for reading.
