Friday's Five 🖐🏼 #53
Hello friends,
Geneva, Frankfurt, London, Brussels, Eupen–my home town. This week's been about work travel and I'll be spending a long weekend in my home town and in my dad's house to try and wrap my head around what my sister and I can do with it.
What I'm reading
Crudo – Olivia Laing (Goodreads). What a great peek into a human's mind. And to put it in Jean Hannah Edelstein's words: "very zeitgeist-y."
What I'm listening to
The Axe Files with David Axelrod – Jon Lovett (Apple). Jon has worked with Obama since the campaign and is now one of the founders of Crooked Media. Also, he's funny.
Bob Moses – Battle Lines (Spotify). Bob Moses is back with a new album and the opening track has been on heavy rotation.
What I'm watching
Jack Ryan (Amazon Prime). A one hundred eighty degree different role and character for The Office's John Krasinski.
What I'm thinking about
You know these pianos that are randomly placed on city squares, in airports, and train stations? While walking through San Pancras Station yesterday, I stopped for a moment to listen to the woman playing the piano. A moment of serenity in an otherwise bustling place. Made me happy.
What else?!
I just read the Berkshire Hathaway's 2017 Shareholder Letter and it's a fascinating read because of its crystal-clear communication, focus, and wisdom & with. If you're looking to learn how to communicate clearly and at the same time learn something new about investing, these 16 pages are a good place to start.
Have a great weekend!
