Friday's Five ππΌ #72
Happy Friday's Five,
I am back in Europe and wow, it's February already!
What I'm reading
Why Are Young People Pretending to Love Work? β The New York Times
"Gender Parity in All Areas Just Seems Logical" β ZEIT
What I'm listening to
This was my month in music β January 2019. Follow along for a new month in music.
What I'm watching
Sex Education β what I loved most about this show is how well developed the characters were, especially the character of Eric Effiong played by Ncuti Gatwa. Find it on the Netflix.
Bad Times At The El Royale β watched this on the flight back to Europe and really enjoyed it, in particular the beginning and the build-up. I wish they'd done more with the Nevada-California border situation, though.
What I'm thinking about
In Venice, I've used e-scooters a lot. There are three main brands in the area: Lime, Bird, and Jump. It was perfect: it's zero-emission, cheap, and a lot of fun. While I appreciate there are tons of challenges with e-scooters (unit economics, safety, regulation, street conditions, etc), this is a great way to get around in a city and I can't wait for them to roll out in Berlin.
What else?!
Isa and I tried something new with the (German) podcast. Instead ofβlike usuallyβ a guest, this time we have a conversation amongst one another. We speak about how and why we started Role Models, we reflected on our 2018 Role Models highlights, and answered some questions from our listeners that we've received over the years. Have a listen on rolemodels.co/rolemodels or wherever you get your podcasts.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy your weekend.
