Friday's Five ๐๐ผ #89
Happy Friday!
Greetings from Bad Gastein, a small village tucked in the mountains south of Salzburg, Austria, where I am taking a few days to relax, read, and recharge after a busy two days facilitating workshops with our client ProSiebenSat1 in Munich.
What I'm reading
A Ladder to the Sky by John Boyne โ stunning read. Great story, good writing โ Goodreads
What I'm listening to
Two of the greatest interviewers shared a conversation: Terry Gross meets Howard Stern.
Similarly great, perhaps even a tiny bit better: Howard Stern meets Conan O'Brien.
What I'm watching
The Tales of Two Kitchens โ this documentary follows chef Gabriela Cรกmara and her vision for her two restaurants in Mexico City and New York City. Contramar, one of Gabriela's two restaurants, was one of my favorite discoveries during my sabbatical in 2015. What I love most about this documentary is the focus on the restaurant workers rather than the chef.
What I'm thinking about
I'd love to learn about the impact in terms of percentage increase in revenues the year after any restaurant is featured in shows like Chefs Table.
What else
Speaking of Bad Gastein... if you ever decide to go, make sure to stay at Haus Hirt, Miramonte, or Regina. Three hotels that bringing fresh air into this old-school mountain refuge.
Have a great weekend, thanks for reading!
