Friday's Five 🖐🏼 #90
Happy Friday's Five,
Hello from Brussels where I just spent a day off from work to sit my nephews. Hope you had a good week!
What I'm reading
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. This is my favorite novel in years. Thoroughly enjoyed it –Goodreads
What I'm listening to
Spending long stretches of time in the mountains of Bad Gastein followed by some work travel made this week a week of long-form podcast listening. Highlights included the conversations between Sam Harris and Shane Parish and Adam Grant, this incredibly moving episode of This American Life called 'Unconditional Love', and the conversation between two greats of comedy, Conan O'Brien and Stephen Colbert.
What I'm watching
How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast) – I was impressed by this German tv show which feels very Un-German. Netflix again pushing the boundaries and I wonder if this show would have ever aired on German mainstream tv – Netflix
What I'm thinking about
Yesterday was the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the landings of the allies in Normandy. I spent a few moments to look at these photos and to appreciate the sacrifice that thousands of young men made in that early summer of 1944.
What else
Remember the Gillette campaign I had the chance to be a part of. It just won a German Brand Award for Excellence in Brand Communication.
Have a great weekend, thanks for reading
