Friday's Five 🖐🏼 #98
Happy Friday's Five,
Hello from Berlin where I spent a quiet week catching up on admin work, some client calls, a new client meetings.
What I'm reading
The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne - about halfway in and I'm loving the story and writing. Highly recommended.
Why is everyone on Tinder so obsessed with tacos? (thanks to Friday's Five reader Daryn for sharing!)
This Is the Beginning of the End of the Beef Industry – is it?
What I'm listening to
Bon Iver's new album 'i,i' dropped over night and I am going to check it out over the weekend.
What I'm watching
La Casa de Papel – I had ignored this series for a long time and then several people (including subscribers of this very newsletter) recommended it to me and I am glad they did. This series is special and I'm liking it. Find it on Netflix.
What I'm thinking about
What is the greater contribution to community and society that companies are making to our community and to our society beyond generating profit and creating shareholder value? This is a question we see more and more of our ForChiefs clients asking themselves, leaders ponder on, and millennials expecting. Yet most leaders are still struggling with the question and struggling to define their purpose. To help those who are driven and interested to answer these questions, we are organizing the first Purpose Day in Berlin on September 27th alongside speakers from einhorn, Tony's Chocolonely, Weleda and many more. If you're interested in joining, tickets are only 25 Euro and they're going fast.
What else?!
Michi and Ani of The Kyōō Podcast invited me back to their podcast to speak about role models, diversity, and my work as a coach and consultant. If you're interested, it's here and it's in German.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
David
