Friday's Five 🖐🏼 #99
Happy Friday's Five,
Hope you had a great week! Mine was great with a new client on Monday and a fav client on Thursday, with lots of idle time in between for admin work and for the following:
What I'm reading
Culture Eats Strategy: Nucor’s Ken Iverson on Building a Different Kind of Company – Farnam Street
How to Provide Great Feedback When You’re Not In Charge – Farnam Street
What I‘m listening to
What oil companies knew: the great climate cover-up – Guardian's Today In Focus Podcast
I've shared before that I am a huge fan of The West Wing and The West Wing Weekly Podcast that discusses every single episode of the series. A recent special episode features Alex Graves, the director of the series who shares interesting insights into the show from the perspective of a director.
What I'm watching
The Great Hack – this documentary centers around the workings of Cambridge Analytica that secretly collected 87 million Facebook users’ data. Find it on Netflix.
What I'm thinking about
I came across this video on Twitter the other day which made me think about the impact of Deep Fake on media and information and that a challenge we are facing will not be how to access information but whether we can trust it or not.
What else?!
Deutschland Spricht is an initiative by German newspaper and magazine Die Zeit that brings together two people with opposing political views with the aim to have a two-way conversation. I missed it last year and this year I signed up for October 30.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
