Friday's Five ✋ #200
Happy Friday! ☀️
Welcome to edition #200 of Friday’s Five, another milestone! After spending a week in Munich I arrived in Brussels yesterday to surprise my nephew for his birthday and look forward to spending the weekend with family and home town friends.
What I’m reading 📖
I was looking for a fast and easy read and came across ‘Beach Read’ by Emily Henry on Goodreads. January and Augustus are next-door neighbours in beach houses in a tiny vacation town. They’re both writers, and both dealing with writer’s block, so they decide to swap genres—January will teach Gus how to write a fun, swoony rom-com, and Gus will teach her how to write bleak literary fiction. More about the book.
What I’m listening to 🎧
Esther Perel is one of my favorite podcast guests and all around a favorite person to listen to. She’s a fellow Belgian, psychotherapist, and relationships expert and returns to the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard to talk about relationships in a post-pandemic world and introduces a new game she developed that helps people have more meaningful conversations.
What I’m watching 📺
‘On Becoming a God in Central Florida’ is a dark comedy starring Kirsten Dunst who plays a a minimum-wage-earning water park employee who schemes her way up the ranks of a cultish, flag-waving, multi-billion dollar pyramid scheme that drove her family to ruin. Highly entertaining. Watch the trailer.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
“Chill your life, mom.” – my friend’s daugther.
What else?! 💯
I spent the week working from Munich and stayed at ‘Haus im Tal’, a hotel that opened just when the pandemic hit. I spent quite a bit of time there last summer while on trips to Munich and can recommend it. Very comfortable rooms, a cozy rooftop, and a super friendly staff. Check in.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
David
