Friday's Five ✋ #204
Happy Friday! ☀️
Hello from the tail end of a first full week back at work. Things are picking up speed again and Isa and I also pre-recorded two new interviews for the Role Models Podcast. It felt nice to be back in the studio to have some deep conversations.
What I’m reading 📖
A busy week meant not enough time to start a new book so I’m sharing another quote from Matt Haig’s ‘The Comfort Book’ that I read this week:
Continually looking for the meaning of life is like looking for the meaning of toast. It is sometimes better just to eat the toast.
What I’m listening to 🎧
Late this summer Lorde is finally back with a perfect summer album, her third studio album with the title ‘Solar Power’. I remember first discovering Lorde on SoundCloud in 2011 and what a journey she’s experienced since. Listen to ‘Solar Power’ on Spotify.
What I’m watching 📺
‘Wanted’ is an Australian show from 2016 that I only discovered on Netflix now and that I enjoyed watching this week. Chelsea and Lola are two strangers who are at the same place at the wrong time. At a bus stop, they witness a car crash and they quickly find themselves on the run, entangled in a large conspiracy. I loved the two main characters and the dry, witty, and quirky humor that finds its way into a drama series. Watch the trailer.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
The events in Afghanistan have been on my mind and I can’t find words about this whole mess. It’s sickening, depressing, and overwhelming. Just like my friend Matze, this week I donated to Visions for Children and the Afghanischer Frauenverein e.V. and hope that you can join us, if you can.
What else?! 💯
Through my work as a leadership coach I get to meet a lot of founders and entrepreneurs. In particular I love meeting social entrepreneurs and was impressed to get to know Christoph of Ackerdemia, a social impact association that aims at reconnecting kids and adults with food, nature, and agriculture. I love what they do and can’t wait to start working with Christoph. Check out their different programs.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
