Friday's Five ✋ #215
Happy Friday! ☀️
Tail end of a busy week with my clients Jodel, ShareNow, and goodlive. And a bittersweet Thursday, the anniversary of my mom’s passing. It’s been 9 years and I wish she’d be around.
What I’m reading 📖
I came across this interesting thread on Twitter, a collection of 40 psychological concepts that explain in short and simple summaries behavioural and emotional patterns that we witness every day. I found it interesting and perhaps you think so too.
What I’m listening to 🎧
‘Succession’ is a tv show I’ve shared here before and which is now about mid-season of season 3. It’s an outstanding show and so full of depth that it’s sometimes hard to keep up with the different layers at play in each scene. For season 3, I started listening to the podcast ‘The Watch’ right after watching an episode. In the podcast, the hosts break down and discuss those layers scene by scene. It’s great and feels like watching each episode a second time with a different perspective.
What I’m watching 📺
Would not consider myself a soccer fan or a fan of the football club FC Bayern by any means. But after a long day I just hit play on the first episode of the Amazon documentary series about FC Bayern and I got drawn into it. I love behind-the-scenes and this series does a good job (and granted, a good promotional job) at showing the history of the club, the fascination, the polarization, and the attitude of the players and the leadership of the club. I’d argue it’s worth watching even if you’re not a die-hard football fan. Watch the trailer.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
I was aware of the feeling but couldn’t put words to it, now I do:
Psychosomatization: physical manifestations of emotional states - often happens because we’re unable to feel things emotionally. Ex: feeling nauseous when what you really are is anxious. “We store our issues in our tissues.”
What else?! 💯
This morning, with ForChiefs we celebrated a short and sweet solemn ceremony. I can’t speak more about it yet, but wanted to share what a great feeling it is to reach and cross a milestone. More news soon!
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
