Friday's Five ✋ #220
Happy Friday! ☀️
Hello from Vienna where I spent a good part of the week to work with a client followed by some remote work from here. It’s my last week of work and I’m really feeling the upcoming break.
What I’m reading 📖
Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ is one of the band’s greatest songs and also their most popular one. Coldplay seems like a band that is loved by the masses and overly criticised by the music media and this article by The Ringer makes a case for the band and the song ‘Fix You’ in particular. Personally, I was disappointed by the last album but love the band. Fix me!
What I’m listening to 🎧
The Line Podcast is a true crime podcast that examines the case of Eddie Gallagher who in 2018 was accused of murder by a group of Navy Seals. It’s an incredible production with tons of original audio material and a very good narration by host Dan Taberski. It also offers a deep insight into the psychology and morals of war, the not always clear line between good and evil, and tons of background information into a usually secretive branch of the Military.
What I’m watching 📺
I watched ‘The Green Knight’ last night after seeing it on some best of the year lists. What can I say, it’s a strangely different kind of medieval movie. It’s slower, less action-packed, and eerily beautifully shot. The costumes, scenery, and the long wide scenes stand out for me more than the story itself. Watch the trailer.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
“We find meaning in moving. When we stop moving, what does this do with our meaning.” – Jerry Colonna
What else?! 💯
Isa interviewed actress Karoline Herfurth for the Role Models Podcast and spoke about Karoline’s upcoming movie ‘Wunderschön’, a movie she directed and performs in. Isa and Karoline speak about her love for feature films, the pressure to optimize oneself, and about untapping your inner strengths.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
