Happy Friday! ☀️
Hi from the start of a trip to Sweden to the Stockholm archipelago where I’m visiting friends for a week. It’s my third time back there and I’ve come to love summer time in Sweden and its many islands. Tak!
What I’m reading 📖
In a recent episode of the Lex Fridman podcast I first learned about the work by economist and political scientist Chris Blattman, author of the book Why We Fight. In the book, he suggests that there are five key reasons why conflict wins over compromise and he draws on decades of economics, political science, psychology, and real-world interventions to lay out the root causes and remedies for war. More about the book.
What I’m listening to 🎧
With Life Is Yours, Foals bring us a new album and it’s well-suited for the summer. It’s set on repeat on my Spotify:
What I’m watching 📺
A series I’ve been aware of but never got to watch it is Yellowstone. Set in the magnificent landscape of Montana, with a cast surrounding an excellent Kevin Costner and Kelly Reilley, the series follows the Dutton family who are fighting (mostly in unconventional ways) to save their century-old and Montana’s largest ranch and legacy from locals and outsiders with an interest in their land and valley. It’s part family drama, part horsing & ranching, with a touch of Sons & Anarchy outlaw vibes. Watch the trailer.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.” – Carl Jung
What else?! 💯
Found via a friend I follow on Instagram, Daphnis and Chloe is a small herb and spice company in Greece. I just got my order of smoked chili flakes and dried sage and love it. The smokiness of the chili flakes add a special touch to the heat. Kánte klik.
Tak for reading, have a great weekend!
