Friday's Five ✋ #284
Happy Friday Sunday!☀️
I’m two days later but here comes your weekly edition of Friday’s Five.
What I’m reading 📖
The book ‘Station Eleven’ by Emily St. John Mandel and its superb adaption for television made me anticipate her most recent book ‘Sea of Tranquility’ all the more. About a third in, I like it a lot. It involves time travel and the first part of the book offers a vivid imagery of 1912 emigration from a protagonist to the United States. I really like her writing style and can’t wait to complete the book. More about it.
What I’m listening to 🎧
The Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial was all over the news and absorbed the cultural narrative for a long while. I didn’t care for it at all but found this interview with Dr. Shannon Curry fascinating. She’s a clinical and forensic psychologist who was retained for and testified in the trial. Her research, therapeutic work, and clinical evaluation in the field of relationships is highly insightful.
What I’m watching 📺
Apple TV+’s feel-good hit ‘Ted Lasso’ is back for a new and third season and the charming and funny American coach who takes over a Premier League football club against all odds is in for a new adventure. The blend of American and English humour is a fun an entertaining mix and next to ‘Shrinking’ a good comedy line-up for Apple. Watch the trailer.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
Positive thinking is not about being delusional. It's about learning how to take control of internal processing and knowing it'll shape your external environment. – Andrew Huberman
What else?! 💯
A few years ago during my time at SoundCloud I was lucky to meet Ashton Kutcher at his house to talk talk, social media and music with some friends. His house was great and he told us about a new house that he and his wife Mila Kunis were building. Recently I came across this Architectural Digest piece that features their new farmhouse-style home. Swoon.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
