Happy Friday! ☀️
Hello from Vienna where the sun is shining and where I just got back from an early-morning walk with a friend’s dog we’re looking after for a week. I spent the week with two new clients defining vision, mission, and strategy with one client and diving deep into high performing teams with another.
What I’m reading 📖
Fellow readers in my Goodreads feed here and there read and rated John Edward Williams’ 1965 novel ‘Stoner’ so I decided to download it and read it too. Described as an academic or campus novel, the story follows the (complicated and conflicting) life of William Stoner in at the beginning of the 20st century in a small college town. What stands out for me in the novel is how well developed the characters are and the stylistic choice of writing. ‘Sober’ is the word I would chose but in a way that keeps the story moving on at a good beat.
What I’m listening to 🎧
April is coming to close, spring is (very) near and here are a few new tracks that kept me company in the month of April.
What I’m watching 📺
Tom Hanks stars in the US adaptation of the Swedish hit novel ‘A Man Called Ove’ by Frederik Backman. Here’s the trailer.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
“You have no responsibility to live up to what other people think you ought to accomplish. I have no responsibility to be like they expect me to be. It’s their mistake, not my failing.” – Richard Feynman
What else?! 💯
A few weeks ago I went to Cologne to watch the very final show of a band I used to tour manage for a few years. Pale had recorded and released their last album after their guitarist passed away and the final show was a celebration of their 20+ year journey as a band and Christian’s life. This is the video to a song from the album with footage from the show. It captures all emotions that where present in the venue.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
