Friday's Five ✋ #291
Happy Friday! ☀️
Hello from a the end busy and intense work week–four full-day workshops plus individual coaching sessions, spent in two different cities. I’m ready for the weekend and to spent time outside of workshop rooms.
What I’m reading 📖
Peter Attia is the author of the book I’m reading this week called ‘Outlive - the science and art of longevity’. Trained as a doctor with a detour in consulting, Attia’s area of focus today is to help people understand the drivers towards living a longer, healthier life (‘healthspan’). What I like about the book is that it’s not your regular and often conflicting “Do this for that” advice book and rather dives deep (at times very deep) into the details and sceience of the main diseases to prevent (he calls them the four horsemen), how the body works, and–of course–nutrition, sleep, and exercise. Read a review.
What I’m listening to 🎧
Pano is a Berlin-based singer-songwriter I first discovered in my Release Radar and I’m vibing to her latest song ‘Hang In’. Soulful voice, playful guitar licks, a tip-toeing drumbeat and a shining chorus. The perfect start to an early morning on a sunny day in May.
What I’m watching 📺
Formed in 1864, Wrexham AFC is the third-oldest football club in the world and has competed in the fifth English league for most of the recent era. In 2020, the two actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the club with a vision to help bring back some of the club’s past glory. And just like any other story of an underdog, what better than to capture the attempt in a fun and moving docu-series. Season 1 has been out for a while and now that Wrexham won the promotion into the fourth league, there sure will be a season two. Watch the trailer for ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” – Dr. Peter Attia
What else?! 💯
My good friend and former SoundCloud colleague Henrik is in town and staying with me this week. It’s great to have him here and reconnect. Henrik is the founder and creator of Auxy, a super simple yet powerful music making app for electronic music. Basically a mini studio in your pocket. It’s so fun to play around with it. Check it out.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
