Happy Friday! ☀️
Hello from Hamburg where I am about to step into a team coaching workshop. I am writing these news as a married man. Last Saturday, my now-wife and I got married in an intimate setting in nature in Vienna, surrounded by close family and friends, and followed by a great dinner at our favourite restaurant. I’m still beaming from the energy and love felt that day and will always remember this special moment.
What I’m reading 📖
Ragnhild Struss is a friend and co-founder of a career consultancy in Hamburg. Isa and I interviewed Ragnhild a few years ago and she’s one of the most impressive people we’ve spoken to on the podcast. Ragnhild is passionate about empowering people to have fulfilling careers and she just wrote her first book called ‘Job Crafting’. When we’re dissatisfied with our job the answer is often to look elsewhere. In her book, Ragnhild proposes to investigate the possibilities of changing the circumstances within our power to regain this satisfaction, to craft your job to an extent that works for you. Read more about the book (in German) here.
What I’m listening to 🎧
A year after releasing Narcoland, a podcast about a meth lab in the Western part of Germany, Alexander Gutsfeld just released his new production: Das Lederhosen Kartell. Gutsfeld has been working as a rickshaw driver during the Munich Oktoberfest for 10 years and in this latest podcast, he investigates the history of the Wiesn, peeks into the side tracks of the event, and anecdotes of the rides he offers to guests with his rickshaw.
What I’m watching 📺
Besides a good music and artist documentary I love a good sports documentary and I found this one in the newsletter of my buddy Nick who lives in Australia. Matildas follows the Australian women’s national football team while they prepare for the World Cup in their home country. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a squad that almost made it into the finals. Watch the trailer.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
“A generous heart is always open, always ready to receive our going and coming. In the midst of such love we need never fear abandonment. This is the most precious gift true love offers - the experience of knowing we always belong.” – Bell Hooks
What else?! 💯
Nine songs in this playlist from September which just ended. A little fewer tracks as usually, this shows me that September was a busy month with little time for new music discovery.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
