Happy Friday! ☀️
Thirty minutes after the last (pre-written and scheduled) edition of this newsletter went out last Friday I became a dad. Our daughter was born on October 20 at 8:30am and after a few days of recovery at the hospital, our little family got home on Tuesday. I’m in awe of my wife and our baby and I can’t stop looking at her. What a gift. I’m taking a couple of weeks off from work to be fully present and support wherever I can by cooking meals and tidying up.
What I’m reading 📖
It’s been fascinating and humbling to me to think about the two new fundamental life roles I’ve taken on only a few weeks apart and it’s a great feeling. I’m only at the very beginning of learning and understanding and it’s exciting to learn something as fundamental from scratch. What babies can teach us is a good primer for where I am and I am curious to read more. If you’re a parent or a spouse and have read something you really loved, please share with me. Read about what The School of Life tells us what babies can teach.
What I’m listening to 🎧
Fitting the news and theme of the week, I’ve always enjoyed the music by the band Daughter and this year’s album ‘Stereo Mind Game’ in particular.
What I’m watching 📺
The Morning Show’s third season has been out for a while and I hadn’t gotten to it yet. This week, I found a few moments at night to catch up with the show and it seamlessly picks up the plot and vibe where it left off in season 2. Again, a brilliant cast, high production value, and an entertaining storyline. Watch the trailer for season 3.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
Our baby is a week old today and I spent a few moments this morning thinking about and remembering the experience of welcoming our daughter to this world last Friday. Her first look, the first moments with her–skin on skin, the first day at the hospital, the first day at home. I will never forgot this day and am grateful my wife and I got to experience it.
What else?! 💯
Well, not much else this week, as you can imagine :)
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!

Congrats! Enjoy getting to know each other!
Wow! Wonderful news - congrats! My kids are older [17+21] but I love being a dad. It's the hardest and most rewarding role in the world and their births are something I'll never forget. Soak in every moment..
