Friday's Five ✋ #337
Happy Friday! ☀️
After starting the week off in Vienna, I headed to Antwerp for another great strategy workshop with a client there, and am now near Brussels at my sister’s for a few days. Tomorrow I am headed to my home town to see family and friends I haven’t seen in a while.
What I’m reading 📖
Our daughter is only 5 months old and yet we already observe how fascinated she is by phones. This observation, conversations with friends and family about screen time, and not knowing the effects of phone use at a young age is a phenomenon that we seem to not have understood fully. This New Yorker piece tries to get an overview of where we stand.
What I’m listening to 🎧
I’ve shared a new song from Elbow’s new album ‘Audio Vertigo’ here a few weeks ago and now the album is out and it’s been on heavy rotation during my travels. I really like it, it feels like they are going back to some original sounds from their early days and it works out for me.
What I’m watching 📺
The premise of ‘The Tourist’ sounded interesting so I gave it a go a few weeks ago and have watched both seasons since. Set in the Australian Outback, a man wakes up with amnesia after an accident and sets him on a path to remember his past with limited clues and a band of mysterious people hunting him. Watch the trailer.
What I’m thinking about 🧠
“One of the deep secrets of life is that all that is really worth doing is what we do for others.” — Lewis Carroll
What else?! 💯
The biggest value the internet has brought is access to free knowledge. I came across this collection of free online courses from various faculties of Yale University and there are 3-4 I will watch. I am starting with the Psychology course. Learn.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
